Hatchery staff and SSSC educators work directly with Pacific High School, Sitka High School, and Mt. Edgecumbe High School to provide hands-on experience for students interested in aquaculture. This elective course is designed to give students an introduction to fisheries technology and hatchery operations in Alaska. The course covers a broad range of aquaculture components from egg-take to fish pathology, but the underlying theme is the importance of hatcheries in the state of Alaska.
