Bird Walk in Totem Park with ornithologist, Allison Nelson on June 9th

Sitka Sound Science Center is pleased to host a coffee and bagels meet and greet with Allison Nelson, our visiting Scientist in Residency Fellow. Allison’s work has focused on the Hermit Thrush, a migratory songbird native to Sitka. Following informal conversation about birds and her research.

                                    On June 9th at 7:30 am

                                                  Meet in the SSSC Retail Shop located in the Mill Building

                                                   Allison will lead a bird walk at the Sitka National Historic Park, 8 – 9 AM.

                                               Families and young birders are encouraged to attend!

The Sitka Sound Science Center is hosting this event as a part of the National Science Foundation funded Scientist in Residency Fellowship program and funding from the National Park Service. This event is a collaboration between the two entities and the Sitka Conservation Society.
