Sitka Sound Science Center’s Research Director, Dr. Lauren Bell, joined colleagues earlier this month in Moss Landing, CA for the National Association of Marine Laboratories (NAML) biannual meeting and the Western Association of Marine Laboratories (WAML) annual meeting. Lauren serves on the boards for both organizations, which bring together marine labs across the country to share knowledge, strengthen research and education in marine science, and collaborate on coastal and ocean challenges.

Being part of NAML and WAML keeps SSSC connected to a nationwide network of marine labs and to the policy work happening in Washington through Federal Science Partners—a vital link as the federal funding landscape for science continues to shift. We’re proud to be part of a community that’s keeping ocean science strong and connected from coast to coast!
