Natural History Seminar Series
On Wednesday September 11th at 7:30pm in room 229. Dr. Kaeli Swift will present “Something to Crow About” .
Crows and ravens are found on nearly every continent and routinely infiltrate the hearts and minds of the humans who share their space. Kaeli Swift will discuss some of the general aspects about crows that contribute to our affinity (and sometimes hatred) for them, with a particular emphasis on concepts that are the most frequent questions people have about crows including play, tool use, communal roosting, and, of course, funerals.
Dr. Kaeli Swift completed her graduate studies at University of Washington. The past summer she has researched foraging behaviors Canada Jays in Denali National Park. To learn more about Dr. Swift’s research, visit her blog.
