Originally from Portland, Oregon, Ella has been moving further north as time goes by. She earned a degree in computer science at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. In between her studies Ella enjoyed the outdoors through mountain biking. After visiting Sitka Alaska in July of 2023 Ella fell in love with the wild beauty of Southeast and came to live here just a few months later. As a data manager at Sitka Sound Science Center, Ella enjoys making technology more accessible, streamlined, and integrating it into research. The intersection of environmental research and computer science excites her, and she is grateful to have her passion be her job. In her spare time, Ella enjoys running, writing, and painting the inspiring scenery of Sitka.
