Ellie supports visiting researchers and contributes to ongoing projects. She grew up in Southern California, and later studied Ecology and Evolution at UC Santa Cruz where she developed an interest in marine science. Her first connection to Sitka was through a UCSC field quarter focused on marine ecology, an experience that deepened her interest in marine environments and field-based research. Ellie is excited to be working with the Science Center, contributing to research, and engaging with the community. In her free time, Ellie can usually be found near the water or in the woods. She enjoys hiking, camping, scuba diving, and sailing, and she’s always looking for new ways to explore and connect with nature.
