Haley grew up in a rural county in Virginia, on a little tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. She has always loved fishing and kayaking and spent much of her time working and volunteering at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in fisheries conservation in 2019 and moved to Sitka right after to start her career in aquaculture. When she isn’t working with fish, you can usually find her hiking or camping with her dog, River.
