Luka Silva

Interdisciplinary Science and Community Integrator

Luka (he/him) is the Science Center’s Interdisciplinary Science and Community Integrator and serves as Project Manager for the Ḵutí Project. He hails from Southern Brazil but has proven hard to pin down, moving around many times growing up. His background is in climate justice, and prior to working at the Science Center he was an Education Fellow at Sealaska Heritage Institute in Juneau. He is a graduate of Yale University, where he studied Global Affairs and Comparative Literature. Luka loves swimming, skiing, hiking, reading, good coffee, bad music, and morally gray yogurt. He is honored to be a guest in Sheet’ká and Lingit Aaní, and to be working on community-based, co-produced approaches to geohazards and climactic issues with the Ḵutí team.
