Maia Carter is originally from Minneapolis, MN, and is incredibly grateful to call Sitka home. As the Science Center's Afterschool Educator, she gets to do her favorite thing in the whole world: making learning fun. Originally a math educator, she especially adores helping students see the structures and patterns that make up our beloved aquarium, hatchery, and the natural world. In her free time, Maia likes to gather people to play music, run on the Cross trail, and draw and paint local sea life (especially crabs!).
