A former AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, Michael arrived at the SSSC in 2013 where he worked to develop our capacity as a college field station. Michael holds a B.A. in Global Studies, International Relations, and Cultural Analysis from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. Originally from Washington State, Michael grew up on Coast Salish land and has built a career in the non-profit sector as a program manager, analyst, and community facilitator/organizer. Michael currently works for Spruce Root and the Sustainable Southeast Partnership managing regional economic and workforce development projects. Michael is passionate about maritime and coastal communities, travel, and social justice issues.
