Brenna is the Mariculture Education Coordinator at UAS, working in partnership with the Sitka Sound Science Center. She holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and developed a strong passion for local food systems while growing up on her parents’ apple orchard in Wisconsin. She moved to Sitka three years ago to deepen her understanding of marine and aquatic food systems. Since then, she has surveyed for ADF&G, taught physics, chemistry, and physical science at Sitka High School, and cultured fish at the Sitka Sound Science Center. In her free time, you can find Brenna hiking, baking, or curating her monthly snail-mail subscription service, The Milk Run.
