The State of Alaska's Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka is the oldest museum in Alaska and is located in the first concrete building in the state, directly across from the Sitka Sound Science Center. The museum has a unique Alaska Native ethnographic collection. One could spend hours in this special museum exploring the vast collection that includes Alaska Native artifacts and cultural items from indigenous people around Alaska.
