Reflections of Gratitude
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday officially starting the giving season. As we reflect on our busy year we are filled with gratitude to everyone who has supported Sitka Sound Science Center. Whether you’ve visited us, volunteered, donated, or simply shared in our passion for science and education, your involvement helps make our work possible.
This year, we’ve had the privilege of engaging with our community through hands-on learning experiences, mobile touch tanks, and in-depth research in the beautiful waters of Southeast Alaska. Looking at the year ahead we are excited about the opportunity to expand our work in all our departments as well as updating our facilities.
Since its construction in 1929, the Sage building has served our community as a hub of learning and connection. The Aquarium, Laboratories, and Grounds (AL-G) project will create spaces that students, scientists, and visitors from Sitka and beyond will use to build a deeper understanding of our world. Donate today and help bring updated research laboratories, inspiring aquarium designs, and accessible grounds to our community. Your donation during this giving season helps us connect people of all ages with the natural world sparking curiosity and exploration.

None of this would be possible without your support. Thank you for helping us foster a deeper understanding of the wonders of the ocean, rivers, land, and the diverse species that call this region home. Your participation truly makes a difference, and we look forward to another year of learning, exploration, and discovery together.
Wishing you a season filled with gratitude.
