Seaweed science talk with Dr. Lauren Bell
Seaweed science in a changing ocean: the underwater world of Sitka’s coastal carbon engineers | Thursday September 28th starting at 7:00 pm UAS room 229
The next Natural History seminar hosted by the University of Alaska Southeast will feature Dr. Lauren Bell. Her talk will describe the diverse forms, seasonal growth patterns, and ecological roles of dominant subtidal seaweeds in Sitka Sound. Dr. Bell will also delve into how changing marine environments may alter the critical habitats and food supply these seaweeds provide.
Dr. Bell works at the Sitka Sound Science Center as our research director.
