Spring Art Walk

April 5, 2024, by Lisa Teas Conaway

We are so excited to be featuring Sitka High School student artwork and research at this years Spring Art Walk.

We will be opening the aquarium for the art walk only today starting at 4:30pm and running till 6pm.

We are juxtaposing beautiful pen and ink work featuring local flora and fauna and cedar work with our Traditional Ecological Knowledge class’s cedar monitoring presentations.

Both groups of students have worked diligently depicting our local temperate rainforest in artistic forms and studying it in scientific and traditional ways. This show will create a wholistic picture of our lands as seen through the eyes of our students.
We welcome everyone to come and view the show, it is free to all and there will be light snacks available.

Join us Friday from 4:30pm to 6pm. There are nine other locations participating in tonight’s ArtWalk, pick up your passport and after getting stamped at different locations drop it off at Island Artists Gallery to be entered into a drawing for door prizes.
