Sprouts – “Intertidal Exploration”

May 5, 2020, by Kristina Tirman

With extra low tides this week, comes extraordinary opportunities for intertidal exploration! The intertidal zone is the area of land between the highest high tide and the lowest low tide – this means that certain areas within the intertidal zone are sometimes covered with water and sometimes exposed to air. Animals that live within the intertidal zone have special adaptations that allow themselves to survive in this ever-changing environment.
