State of the SoundMon, Feb 24th, 1-5pm
Join us next Monday, February 24th, from 1–5 PM at the Harrigan Centennial Hall Raven Room for an interactive event hosted by researchers at Sitka Sound Science Center, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and University of Alaska Southeast! This gathering will bring together local knowledge holders and researchers to dive into current research, observations, and more.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
-
Exploring Current Research and Observations: Learn about latest data, findings, and research happening in the Sheet’ká/Sitka area.
-
Developing the ‘State of the Sound’ Symposium: Help shape the vision and approach for an annual Sitka science symposium (kickoff goal in 2026!)
This event is open to every person in Sitka with an interest in sharing local knowledge and research about Sitka Sound’s terrestrial, aquatic, and marine ecosystems.
