We are pleased to announce that a team of PhD student researchers from the Pardee RAND Graduate School are assisting us, at the Sitka Sound Science Center, and the broader community of Sitka this summer in understanding how tourism is impacting our community. All residents (both year-round and those here for temporary work) over the age of 18 are invited to participate in a brief survey about how this year’s increase in tourists has affected your life.

The survey is anonymous, and will be open until Wednesday, August 31st, and results will be shared with the community this Fall. This community assessment effort will help us reflect on this tourist season and figure out what our community can do better next summer to meet residents’ needs and interests.
