Please join us on April 2nd from 8:30 am – 11:30 am at Crescent Harbor when we take a 3-hour boat cruise on Sitka Sound for a morning of learning and discovery. A Sitka WhaleFest fundraiser which supports SSSC’s mission of being dedicated to increasing understanding and awareness of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of coastal Alaska through education and research. As part of the planned activities, we will reveal the 2022 Sitka WhaleFest theme.

While on the water, you will learn about the various landmarks, birds and wildlife that make Sitka Sound home. Joining us will be Matt Goff, local naturalist and bird expert; Dr. Gary Greene, research scientist, who helped map Sitka Sound’s seafloor and Chuck Miller, Cultural and Community Liaison for Sitka Tribe of Alaska.

Tickets are $65 per person register online here or tickets will be available at Old Harbor Books on March 17th.

Due to covid restrictions, there will be limited food available and facemasks will be required in the boat cabin. The vessel has reduced capacity to allow for social distancing.
