Snow is dusting the mountain tops as a chilly wind ripples the waters across Sitka Sound. Winter is here and as everyone is hunkering down against the cold with family and friends the Sitka Sound Science Center has decided to take a winter break so our hardworking staff are able to take time to enjoy the season.

We will be closed from December 10th through January 2nd, 2024.

Please come in to visit us in the next week before the break or in the new year once we’re back to our winter hours of Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.
